Cornell/Flasher uses EL technology to produce a dazzling light effect on EL sheets used in the Flasher mug. These sheets are manufactured in a way which causes phosphorus particles to group into the desired design shape, creating areas that illuminate and flash via power from a circuit board, transformer, microprocessor, and two AAA batteries located in the base of the mug. Our patented process allows for artwork to be printed on a thin layer of PVC which overlays the EL sheet and through specific transparent windows in the PVC, fluorescent light and patterns are illuminated. Flashing sequences occur in either 45-50 second (slower) or 60-70 second (faster) increments with a battery life of approximately 11 hours of continual use the equivalent of 36,000 events.
